Home Inspector In Hudson Valley Finds Roof Problems
Roof Problems Found By Hudson Valley Home Inspector
What’s in your attic?
As I was looking at a roof in Hudson Valley I noticed a gap between the fascia and roof sheathing along the rear fascia. Now some people might like insects, pest, bees, or even bats in the attic…
And if you’re the type of person that likes these things living in your attic than maybe you don’t have to fix this problem…
But if you are like me, I would want this fixed before I would buy the house.
Even if you like these kinds of insects and creatures, build another home for them and get this fixed.
If water is getting into this area you may have a serious problem on your hands. Water penetration into a home is a very serious issue that can cause huge repair bills.
This type of issue is why you should always get the house that you are about to buy inspected by a professional home inspector.
Having the experience and a trained eye to know what to look for can often save you, the home buyer, thousands of dollars in repair bills that you were not expecting.
No one wants to move into their new home and be faced with unexpected repairs.
Who’s looking after your investment? It’s not the owner, it’s not the bank, and it’s not the Realtor…
You are basically on your own unless you hire a Home Inspection Company. Don’t take the chance and buy a money pit. Be sure that the home you’re buying is safe, sound, and secure.

Home Inspection Finds Tree Problem In Hudson Valley
Check Out This Tree Problem From A Hudson Valley Home Inspection
I like trees as much as the next person. But the damage that they can cause when not trimmed properly can be very costly. Trees do not stop growing and they will tear up anything that tries to stop them.
During this Hudson Valley home inspection I climbed up on the roof to see what condition it was in…
As you can see…
The very first thing that I noticed is what you see – branches hanging over and laying on the roof. This, folks, is not a good thing.
Just the wind blowing could cause the branches to get under the shingles and tear them up!
This is very easy to take care of - just trim the branches before it causes any real problems.
Buying a home is a big investment. Having the home inspected by a professional home inspector before you go to closing helps protect your investment.

Hudson Valley Home Inspector Says Watch Your Step
Hudson Valley Home Inspector Protects Buyer
What happens when your steps deteriorate?
When I was doing a home inspection in Hudson Valley I noticed the steps in the back. As I got closer I could see that they have started to deteriorate.
This can cause a real problem. When steps start to deteriorate they become loose and brittle which means they can break off very easily as you are stepping on to them. This can cause you or someone else to fall and get hurt.
That would not be a good thing. A masonry contractor can fix this or replace the steps fairly easy.
The other thing that is missing is a handrail which helps by having something to hold on to when going up or down the steps.
In this case a handrail may be needed per municipal requirements.
I know that these steps might not be a big deal to you – and it’s probably not a deal breaker when you’re considering buying a home.
But you may be able to get the owner to fix this problem before you buy the house. If not, you will be paying for it out of your own pocket.
When you’re buying a home you don’t want unexpected costs right after you’ve bought your new home.
Hiring a professional home inspector before you buy a home is a smart thing to do. He is looking out for your interests!
PS – I would also get rid of the vines that are growing on the steps too. I would hate for someone to trip over them.

Hudson Valley Home Inspector Finds Water Problem
This Hudson Valley Home Has A Water Problem That Was Found By The Home Inspector
This is one of those places that most people don’t ever want to go into…
That’s right, it’s the nasty crawl space where all kinds of things happen and you don’t find out until it’s too late.
As you can see from the picture I had to climb inside one of those nasty crawl spaces when I was inspecting this home in Hudson Valley. You can see that there is a white efflorescence (powder substance) on the block wall which indicates moisture.
What’s bad about moisture in dark places is it can cause mold to start growing and mold can be a very harmful health issue to you and your family.
The other thing I wanted you to see is the insulation that needs to be repaired. As energy costs continue to go through the roof every little bit of insulation that needs to be repaired should be. This will reduce your energy costs.
It’s so important when buying a home (new or old) to get it inspected by a professional home inspector before you go to closing. A home inspector can save you thousands of dollars of unexpected repair work.

Home Inspections Are Great Investments…
Home Inspection Hudson Valley
Nowadays you never really know what you’re really getting yourself into when buying an existing home or a new home.
When people are selling their homes they make their home look as nice as possible. This is to make the house ’show’ better.
When you’re shopping for a home, you get excited and the chances of you overlooking something important are greater.
That’s why it’s very important to hire a professional home inspector so you won’t get stuck with a money pit.
A home inspector has the training and the eye to look for things that the average person would never even think of looking for.
They are not emotionally connected to buying the home and can be objective in their evaluation.
If you are getting ready to invest in a home that means you are investing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Doesn’t it make good sense to invest a few hundred dollars to make sure that the home you are about to buy is safe, sound and secure?
Think About It… Before You Go To Closing!
